Pachalloor Thookkam

Video on Thookkam held at Pachalloor Mudippura, Trivandrum. Thookam is a temple ritual and offering held at Bhadrakali (Bhagavati) temples. Thookkam is performed for the good health and well-being of children or to get children who does not have them. Thookkam literally means to hang on, involves hanging over the thookkakkaran or the man who performs Thookkam on to the cart like vehicle, in a flying position using hooks. He will carry a child in his hangs. The cart will be pulled around the temple to make a pradashinam by the devotees.
